He also ventures to a remote fishing village to experience island life, learning how coconut milk is produced and how pepper is cultivated. Curious about the region’s bold flavors, Tomek samples some of Southeast Asia’s most unusual delicacies — including the famously pungent Durian and even fried tarantula. Meeting passionate local cooks, farmers, and food lovers along the way, he discovers the ingredients, techniques, and stories that define the cuisine of this fascinating part of the world. The journey concludes in Cambodia, where Tomek visits the capital Phnom Penh and the southern town of Kampot, famous worldwide for its exceptional pepper.
