Six young adults with Down syndrome embark on an independent journey across Thailand to test themselves outside their familiar routines and take another step toward independence. In the fourth season of Down The Road, the participants are accompanied by a new host, Monika Hoffman-Piszora—a mother of six, including two children with Down syndrome. The journey begins in Bangkok, a city of extremes where slums stand alongside luxury high-rises, tuk-tuks share the road with the world’s most expensive supercars, and unfamiliar customs constantly captivate the eye. From there, the travelers venture deep into Thailand like true backpackers—navigating bustling street markets, ancient temples, dense jungle terrain, and local towns—before ultimately reaching the tropical, colorful shores of Koh Samui. Across twenty days on the road, the expedition becomes a symbolic path toward adulthood and greater independence.
